But that we're here today
I'm not thankful I'm an American
I'm not proud to be free
I sit ere today proud and
Thankful that you're you and I'm me
You can pull out a history book
And try to shove it in my face
But it's not them I'm thankful for
But that We made this world a better place
I'm not so thankful for
Just a roof over my head
Because I know I could do without
And still be thankful not to be dead
I'm just thankful for people
