And it was in that silent, unholy night -

By lonely lake, under a dying moon,

I burnt your memories to heavenly light,

And let my broken heart release a croon;

 

Then into the dark depths of filth and the lowly,

I threw away the stone of hope - 

Watched it drown in circles, slowly,

And faithless misery hung by the rope.
