Uncertainty

Have you ever been in love so deep, that long after it had gone,

You couldn't let go or forget about the love that you had won?

Even once they told you that, you would never be again,

Every daydream and every thought, was always of them.

It's like they pushed you into a hole, filled with everything they are,

And although you try to climb out, you never can get very far.

You reach ledges that never seem to hold, for very long at all.

And every time they break off, it's the same old familiar fall.

Back to the bottom where the heaviest things, that matter most to you,

Sit and wait to hold you down, making it so hard to push through.

But you reach the side, and start to climb, with one goal, the top.

Hoping this time, the walls will hold, and your hurting will stop.

You look up at the light, shinning down, and think you can see a face.

And you start to wonder, if you do get out, whose been waiting for all these days.

Will you know the smile, will you remember the touch, as they help to pull you free.

Or will they be someone new to you, who actually cares about what makes me, me.

So near the bottom, pain below, uncertainty ahead,

You struggle on, pulling up, with arms that feel like lead.

You know someone said, love conquers all, so for it this cant be much.

But the only way to know for sure, is reach the top, and know the touch.
