Poem For Tonya
The times we spend together, are the best times of my life,
To see this stormy weather, makes me never want to fight.
Some days the cold takes over, and I don't get to see the light,
But when winter is over, I so enjoy the light.
The bright days of summer, are filled with so much fun,
We spend our days together, forgetting the days without the sun.
The warm embrace of the water, the course sand on my feet,
The fires on the beach, I so enjoy the heat.
When clouds fill the air, and lightning flashes in the sky,
My heart gets so heavy and I wish that I could die.
But then just like the spider, I remember you will come,
And brighten up my day, with warm beams from the sun.
So as I sit here thinking, about those sunny days,
Every rain drop leaves my mind and I just drift away.
I remember how the sun feels, glistening on my face,
And every cloud in the sky, seems to drift away.
I hope you see you are my light, shinning brightly down.
Picking me up when times are bad, and drying up the ground.
I hope that you will always be, that glowing sun for me,
And I promise to enjoy the light, and love you faithfully.
I want to be a warm embrace, that you can enjoy too,
But you just seem so far away and I don't know how to get through.
If I could grab you from the sky and kiss your pretty face,
The storm would be over for us and I would never miss these days.
