Another Letter From Linda

Sean, you have a letter from your nice reporter friend.

Thanks mom, when did it come in?

It came in the mail today,

With all that is going on,

My mind it slipped away.

It is okay, it isn’t a pressing thing,

Probably updating me on the happenings.

Here, let me see what she has to say.

Dear Sean,

Here we are starting another day.

I glad you made it home safe.

Things here haven’t changed at all,

Except the Venerable one is running a constant revival.

He is making more Christians than Oral did,

From the oldest Moslem to the youngest kid.

I tell you Christ has lit his fire,

He is healing the sick and I worry he will tire.

So have you got your memories?

Do you remember Seina and me?

Some nights I lie in my bed and think about you,

How you nurtured the children, and worked too.

I had never seen such a caring person before,

You tell Seina, she is a lucky woman for sure.

Your troops have been called north to fight,

Our protection here now is pretty light.

I am not worried, the word is out,

If you are an insurgent,

We will know what you are about.

We have pretty much fallen into a routine,

The girls here help cook and clean.

The boys do the outside chores,

Then we do school work and religious ed

From two until four.

I don’t get all that homesick to my surprise,

But I would give a months salary,

For a burger and fries.

I have been talking with an Imam

About taking over here,

As my visa and passport expire this year.

He has agreed, if the Venerable One will preside,

And some of his parisheners will help on the side.

I will have to see how it goes,

I won’t leave and have all this close.

Well you know what it is like here,

I have to get going so be of good cheer.

Thank you for the letter, please do write,

Letters home lifts the spirits…all right?

Love Linda.

That was nice. I am glad the home is doing well.

I wonder if Seina is awake,

Wonder if I am going to catch hell.

Time to go face the music

Maybe it won’t be too bad,

The girls did have a good time.

Okay, tell me, do these eyes look sad.

Ha, ha, ha…Sean you are a nut,

Get on up there,

Shake your butt.

Yes ma’am, I will shimmy and shake,

It is time for her meds and it is getting late.

Seina? Are you awake baby?
