poem_106_On_Her_Bed

Now being in the positions she was in

Her mind was finally unclouded

"Now clear thinking shall begin!"

Her mind constantly shouted

In this bed

The young girl did dwell

But the few words she said

Had a different story to tell

She lay in this room

When her condition progressed

Somewhat unhappy, she wasn't in gloom

For she knew she would soon be at rest

Many nights she dreamed

She would feel no more pain

Though all the others just seemed

To be causing more strain

The visions of her parents sulking and sad

The expressions on their face as they passed the casket

All because of the problem and condition she had

These emotions and others she carried in her basket

Her liver was failing

Other organs soon followed

Only with writing was she wailing

And her pride she had swallowed

Her family always came to see

Watching her body rapidly pass

Though 'round her they had glee

Inside they bore the distressed mass

As the days passed by

Her appearance did worsen

And gazing at self-portraits she?d cry

She no longer saw or felt like that person

Her stature was weak, small, and frail

Body covered with sunken depressions

Seeing this, showed her body telling the tale

But no one knew the truth with her kept confessions

She was no longer that smiling girl

That she once lived as and knew

SHE had died in the medical unfurl

SHE was gone; that girl was through
