poem_053_The_Hardest_Transition

It’s when you love but gotta let go.

Cause you know they need to move on.

Even if it hurts deep down below.

You don’t show it and stay withdrawn.

You two still talk. You occasionally see them.

They’re always with that new person.

You smile as your feelings condemn,

So they don’t come out and worsen.

You only want them to be happy eternally.

If it’s not with you by their side,

You keep them hid all internally.

Even through the nights that you cried.

Their thoughts prevail in your mind.

You do everything to try and quit.

You do what you can to keep them confined,

Although you’re feelings you want to admit.

You lie there soaking the bed with tears.

You loved them so much only to suddenly stop,

As you let them move on through the years.

And you feel your heart drop.

It sinks deeper and is about to break.

Every night you go through this game.

It feels like meeting them was a mistake.

You lie there trying to forget their name.

It’s the hardest transition when things go wrong.

You truly love someone and then watch them leave.

You move on possibly loving and staying strong.

Cause who knows when another love you’ll receive.
