poem_025_Heart_Break

You’re separated from the one you wanted to marry.

You loved him so much to find he never felt the same.

You thought you were the one who his child you would carry,

But now you see his love was just a mirrors game.

Alone again, sitting at home, wondering what to do.

Watching everything slowly move on as you sigh.

Once and a while the phone rings hoping it’s him calling you,

You race to the phone trying not to cry.

You pick up the phone listening for his voice.

There’s a long silence before a single sound.

His low confession you hear, “I’ve made the wrong choice.”

Your heart skips a beat as you fall to the ground.

You’re laying on the ground the phone to your side.

The disconnect tone is ringing on the other end.

He thought you’d take him back but you never replied.

He never knew he just lost his girl as well as best friend.

A love known by one and realized by another too late,

Caused this ‘heart break’ to be more than just puppy love pain.

One soft hearted person thought to have found her true soul mate,

And the break up overloaded her heart with a fatal strain.
