Drab Autumn Morning

Folder:
Nature/Environment

The earth stood in silence.

The cloudy skies unmoved;

The leaves of the trees;

Unfussed, unfrosted by

A windless day.

All things held in stillness.

There, in the quiet blue shed,

Two strangers withheld their peace,

Standing fidgety; still

In their looks patience revealed:

They waited for this darn tardy bus.

All manners of road movement

Cars, tracks and buses –

Come and go,

Bustling, raving –

Through the highway

Fizzled by time

So dull, so slow,

What a drab autumn morning!

Author's Notes/Comments:

~Australia’s season is opposite to its northern counterparts.
We have seasonal interchange as we dance along with the meridian time.
Australian Eastern Standard Time, or AEST comes in Summer.
The clock goes one hour forward set for Daylight Saving Time.
Then, we have the Eastern Standard Time in winter, EST.
The hour hand goes backward, set to a normal time.

April is the second month of autumn in the southern hemisphere.
Today, the day looks drab, dull, and slow. Two passengers are waiting
For this stupid bus who never runs on schedule. I am one of the passengers.

Autumn in this area is not as spectacular as the highland where I came from.
It is very dry, arid, and has a typical outback temperature.~
