Beast and Sage


Eternal battle between the raw and refined.

Doth beast slay sage?

Will his purest rage

Overcome the logical mind?

Inside they bide their time too well

But soon they clash

In wars that last

Within my bitter hell.

And with his claw he makes his mark

Drawing sacred blood.

Soon pain will flood

My indecision in the dark.

'Oh please' I say and beg the sage

'For the love of death

Please use your breath

To color me so beige.

Kill whatever beast is left

And free me from this cage.'

Oh god don't let him touch and tempt me

In his subtle ways.

He sets my soul ablaze

In hopes to make me empty...
