No Matter Where

September 2017

No Matter Where

I'd dig.

I'd seek refuge,

beneath..... the soil.

And in the heavens.

Stars, were ever the roof,

of my world.

Mother Earth,

cradled me deep......

.... within her arms.

While her cold tears, soaked me....

to the skin.

I saw, her breath..... sway, the grass.

As man, did ......his thing.

Nature watched us, as.

We tried to kill each other.

Dispassionate, silent.....

Save, the roaring of the wind.

Death's screams, of flying lead.

Lost amidst the maelstrom.

Praying to a god.

Who'd ....

forgot that

we were there.
