I fought, for a queens crown......
On dark, moonless nights......
Followed, her flag!
Pledged, allegiance.......
Was, honour...... bound.
I saw men.......
In, their .....depths.
I saw men......
When, they were......at,
their darkest.
I saw, warriors..... fall.
And Aldershot, seemed .....a, lifetime, away .......
They'll always be,
men.....
Creating, .......dreams.
In dark, smoke filled,..... rooms.
For reasons, ........I'll never know.
I felt, a tremor.....
When you touched, my heart.
You played, your song, I sang along.....
Standing, neath your window!
We'll drink a toast.
For those, that passed.....
My memories, are many.
Seems ....my life, now..... suffers.
Death, is inevitable.....it's final.
But love?
It was.......
Never, meant
To last.
