Forgive Your Foes

Do not hold grudges

For none of us are innocent;

We all have some evil in us,

It is whether we let it

Overcome the good

That determines our quality.

Do not make enemies

For in doing so, you diminish

Your capacity to love

And without love in the world,

No good can come out

Of the people within it.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Inspired by: We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
