Extended Metaphors We all have scars from a pained past;
This we are well aware of.
But we also have scars from His hands
On our arms when he refused to let us go.
In the midst of our outer struggle,
He’s been holding to us in our hearts.
When our feet are deep in the mud of sin,
He tries to pull us back to Him.
Leaving these scars of love on our arms,
He keeps us from being defeated by the enemy.
