are on our lives,
molding marred ceramic.
He keeps one hand
inside the pot~
shaping our hearts
and the other outside~
smoothing out
flesh’s wrinkles.
To function properly,
the pot will be fired
in the kiln.
It needs to be tested,
to see how much
it can withstand.
But the Potter will not
leave the pot in the heat
longer than is needed.
