Growing Pains

I was a seedling

Destined to become

A giant oak, but

The fear of failure

Kept me grounded.

My frozen leaves

And rain poured

Over parched soil.

I grew in stature and

Strength with the help of

The sun, rain and trees

Humbly bending toward me

To carry me above them.
