Crossroad

The journey began

on a speeding highway

where time was

never spent idling,

even the scenery

had a purpose-

to outline our progress

as the countryside

grew more withered.

Spent, I sought

another mode

of transportation.

I staggered away

from the main road,

and met you at the

junction of nowhere

and everything.

You pointed the way,

and I followed your

direction explicitly.

Though I would be

traveling alone

along unsteady

gravel pathways,

I knew the destination

was all that mattered;

the road led me home.

Quote inspired:
Do not go where the path may lead;
go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
