Disaster Relief

Loosely Based On

A hurricane blew

Through here,

Winds unforgiving

Became gusts

Leaving barren

Hearts and

Scattered hopes.

Levees broke

As tears flowed

Out past the dam

Of my eyelids

Without abandon

Flooding what

Once was fertile love.

Relief never comes

As if it was tied up

Caring for those who

Suffered more damage.
