Stumbling into the Light

Darkness hunts for whom he may devour

With sharp fangs and a ravenous appetite.

He stealthily prepares for his banquet feast

Of those who have surrendered in the fight.

Evil resides amongst the shadows while

Lost souls are lured away from the Light.

They have wandered down the wrong path,

For they felt alone on the path that was right.

They hid from the light for their deeds would

Become visible and they would feel ashamed.

Yet light summons those who have gone astray

For long ago, His loved ones, we were named.

He also knows our enemy all too well for He

Has also been tempted by his deceitful tongue.

Yet He triumphed over the adversary when

He paid the ultimate price: on a cross, He hung.

So while we’re constantly falling to temptation,

We can remember: He already won the fight.

Now, we can find our way out of darkness by

Accepting Him so we may stumble into the light.
