Tailor-Made

Folder:
Extended Metaphors

The fabric of my life

Has been wrinkled

By an inescapable past

Riddled with

Mistakes and regrets.

The cloth of my life

Has been tangled up

In my attempts to

Unravel from

My disappointing present.

The seams of my life

Have been frayed

By an uncertain future

Because my purpose

Remains unclear.

I have tried to

To hold my life together,

Bind the seams loosely

All by myself

But it just fell apart.

So I gave my life

To my tailor.

Only He can mend

My broken past and

Patch together my future.

With His steady hands,

He ironed out

The wrinkles

And weaved together

My life's loose ends.

With His skillful hands,

He used a

Needle and thread

To restitch me

Until I am as good as new.

Rewrite 2012

The fabric of my life
has been wrinkled
by an inescapable past
riddled with
mistakes and regrets.

The cloth of my life
has been tangled up
in my attempts to
unravel from
my disappointing present.

The seams of my life
have been frayed
by an uncertain future
because my purpose
remains unclear.

I have tried to
to hold my life together,
bind the seams tightly
all by myself,
but it just fell apart.

So I gave my life
to my tailor.
Only He can mend
my broken past and
patch together my future.

With His skillful hands,
He ironed out
the wrinkles
and weaved together
my life's loose ends.

With His steady hands,
He used a
needle and thread
to restitch me
until I was as good as new.
