Love through the Seasons

Folder:
Extended Metaphors

Hearts awaken following the hibernation

Brought on by a heartless, bitter winter.

Springtime allows for new seeds to be planted,

And, from them, blooms will begin to emerge.

A downpour of romance covers the arid lands.

Attraction enriches the soil and growth ensues.

Spring’s rainstorms leads to summer’s warmth,

Maturing now as passion continues to increase.

Summer’s intensity declines as fall commences;

Desire is shed like the dying leaves off the trees.

The ripe crops are harvested but found damaged;

The sweltering lust of summertime was the cause.

A layer of snow coats all that has since withered;

This winter aspires to be even colder than the last.

Hearts have become seasoned over time

But now will lie dormant until next year.
