There’s a lot of wisdom spoken by old Irish cab drivers in Manhattan.  They have many stories to tell and they usually do like to tell them.  And I just answer politely and follow along with their yarns.  I never feel interesting enough to be able to actually provide them with a new one.  Let them tell me about their other misadventures.  Just listen and learn.  That’s really the way to go.  The old Irish fucks romanticized by George Carlin always have great stories to tell.  They know exactly how to take you to your proposed destination and have tons of recommendations for future trips
