Being pulled aside

and told that

I was too loud

Too loud?

How the Hell

can you be too loud

for poetry?

I can see being told

that I was long and boring

That much I admit

A lot of my stuff

is long and boring

Of course,

the long boring stuff

is what

will ultimately earn me

recognition as a genius

That’s the only reason

I write

the long boring stuff

but as for the part

about being too loud

well, it’s fucking free speech, Bob

I’ll be as loud as I want
