So walking past Village Whiskey

just a bit too early

and the Cavanaugh Rittenhouse was shuttered

negating the opportunity

for a shameful moment

as I shuffled along Sansom Street

I ponder how much further to walk

but walking is good

the Surgeon General implores

so I should be grateful

even if winded

and arthritic knees raising their voice

Dizengoff closed and shuttered

jotted on shuttered windows

so now sitting at Oscar’s Tavern
