Flipping thru

the United Airline safety card

for a third time

ennui clearly sunk in

during taxi

take off eternal minutes away

taxying endlessly

thru Newark swamp runway

destined for better places

destined to see the clouds

feigning interest

in the magazine

as we sit

and wait and wait

and we sit

and wait and wait

and no announcement

and no movement

take-off delayed

I better consult safety card again

I may need oxygen

before this trip is done
