The food was sinfully delish

but somehow

we were never sated

We saw the diners

at the next table over

and their meal

looked even better

and buyer’s remorse

began to set in

We were jealous

of the other diners

and the other meals

so while millions

go hungry every night

we throw away

half a plate

to get a better entrée

and life goes on

at least for some

but some hungers

can never be fulfilled
