bridges still unburned

and doors remain open

until opportunity

fully squandered by insolence

abject failure wrought thru apathy

unwillingness to master the moment

all that hesitance; utter disbelief

frantic in the moment now squandered

slowly viewing windows shutting

bridges burning; doors shutting

we can still cling to dreams

but best that we fight

rail to avoid

rapidly

closing

doors
