My dunkin’ Donut Muslim girlfriend

working the donut stand

I always get an extra donut gratis

or a couple extra hash browns

in my serving

She smiles and winks

3 donuts is more

than I can eat in one sitting

but I smile back anyway

I end up throwing pieces

of coconut donut

to the birds on the platform

 however unwelcome that might be

If feeding birds

was her objective:

Kudos on a job

well manipulated

I’ll be on my train home

in a matter of minutes

but I do look forward

to seeing her smile again
