Lark

Exactly when I couldn’t say,

Although the where is aptly stated,

I wouldn’t say how long I waited.

Passed as though a single day.

I saw upon a branch a lark,

At first I thought: ‘An albatross,’

And then a year did branch across

The dozen more it took to say

What caused the lark to fly away.
