SUDDENLY WORDS DON'T FLOW

 

suddenly words don’t flow

 

the images taunt you

along the rickety tracks

 

the poet’s eye blinking

failing to capture quintessence

of this American city

 

Author's Notes/Comments: 

the last poem written in 2019--riding a Septa train home from work and trying to capture the fleeting images as the train rocked along the tracks.
