After every storm,
the moon finds its place again.
Perhaps love does the same.
Maybe that is why
devotion learns to survive without touch.
It lives in the silence
between heartbeats,
where longing becomes prayer
and waiting becomes faith.
It lives
in two quiet words
Good girl.
Words so gentle
they teach a restless heart
how to become still.
It lives in choosing
the same soul,
the same voice,
the same heart,
every sunrise,
every moonrise,
even when an ocean insists
on standing between us.
And when
the storm returns
as storms always do
I'll search for the moon,
because it has never failed
to find its place again.
Neither will I.
