An Avenged Love

A silhouette of a man, the touch of a women.
A reach for acceptance, a breath of approval.
Undiscovered and uncovered, a poisonous score.
Thrust after thrust, never asking for more.

Ashamed and abandoned, collapsed on the floor.
With one lite cigarette; a smirk and a whore.
I ask for forgiveness, you ask what for?
I'm melting away, as you reach for the door.

I crawl at your feet, high heels colored red.
I stand up behind you, I beg and I beg.
My eyes hold the truth, but you stare at the bed.
A diabolical attraction, to the voice in my head.

The blade is wiped cleaned, on the back of my leg.
You reach for your skirt, unaware of the threat.
I show no anger, for the target is not you.
But my blurred vision, keeps hiding the truth.

One quick motion, a wrist cut clean through.
No need for screaming, an inevitable end.
Crashing into the pillows, with beautiful skin.
As I watch the warm blood, stain with revenge.

She says, "I accept, the apology you gave."
"It does mean a lot, I love you today."
She raises her hands, and kisses the sky.
"I'm happier today, than I've ever been."

I open my mouth, but can't find the words.
My head grows heavy, I reach for a cure.
A mechanical failure, my arm hangs to low.
That evasive light, my eyes unable to fight.

She whispers she's sorry, for the past is the past.
Tomorrow is forever, and forever we will last.
As she turns for a kiss, her world feels whole.
As the missing link, lies dead on the floor.
