shadows lurk in the darkness

lingering behind every tree

just waiting to pounce on me

everywhere I look

a shadow hovers watching me

creeping behid me as I walk

why are there millions of shadows

looking at me, watching every move I make

I want to disappear into thin air

because the shadows are everywhere

they are waiting to kill me

yelling at me to die

they follow me everywhere

I am never safe, I am never alone

because everywhere I go

the shadows are already there

waiting for me to arrive

they talk about me with words

that spit fire into my ears

attacking me with their wit

I cover my ears but I still hear them

I close my eyes but they are still there staring at me

I am never alone

for the shadows walk beside me
