You've never lived (The Amazing Daedalus theme song)

Folder:
2005

do you ever wonder why life has gotta be so damn unfair

you think you'll have someone forever then all of a sudden they're not there

innocence is lost and life will never seem the same again

suddenly the life you had before seems like it was pretend

you try to forget but the image stays in your mind

you just can't leave all these obsessive feelings behind

you just want to go far away from this place

how you wish you could once more see his smiling face

chorus

you've never lived until you've hurt

you've never felt until you've lost someone

you've never been happy until you've cried

you've never smiled until you've been loved

you were so trapped, locked in a cage every day of your life

you never knew what living was, didn't know what was wrong or right

but you saw your whole world in his innocent eyes

never got a chance to look at him and say your goodbyes

hearing him scream knowing you couldn't save him broke your heart

but the time had come to walk away and make a brand new start

it wasn't easy and it wasn't fair, it was the worst moment of your life

and in that moment you learned what pain was cause it hurt like the stab of a knife

chorus

you will never be the same again

all you had before is coming to an end

are you ready to start over today

lets wipe the slate clean, what do you say

chorus

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this as a theme song to the play I am in at college called "The amazing Daedalus" which is about greek mythology.  I wrote in a way so that most of us can relate to it but the story behind it that inspired me and which this song is about is Icarus not being able to save his brother Andrew from being killed and how he had to go with his father and start a new life.
