shadowing on the wall

creeping down the hall



flying freely all around

dancing together to no sound



on the ceiling I watch them glide

I look around for a place to hide



but there is nowhere to go

are they a friend or foe



there is no ghost in the room tonight

they don't go away when I turn on the light

there is not a single monster under my bed

these creatures came to life from inside my head



looking into my eyes

I hear their cries



storming and lightning

they're getting frightening



I want to make them disappear

but they are always still here



invisibility was revealed

and in my room they are sealed
