My Grandfather's Disguises

My Grandparent’s disguises

I will never forget how fun it was to visit my grandparents. The fun and surprised I carried with me as child. The fun and surprise of watching the door open by someone with a large beard; opened by someone with Afro and sun glasses. Of course it is my grandparent, one of the funniest grandparents ever. He is relatively old from the outside a kid on the inside. A genuine young soul, he is. Whether I visited him alone or everyone came. He always is prepared, full of jokes, and of course his disguises. Even today, his spirit hasn't died. A mask here, a wig there, Big nose, big glasses. He never seemed so old to me. Maybe I was fooled by all his jokes and fun, or maybe he was good looking after all. What I knew was that he always thought of something. A way to make his grandsons pass a good time that was always sure. The best part of it was that he always got something new. He bought and people gave him as gift, to complete his fun arsenal. You never knew who will open the door each time. The disguises he has are really one of a kind. Everything he made just to put a smile on our face. I specially remember that he used to wear an Afro with long beard and sunglasses. He would fake to be another person. He also pretended to speak other languages but he messed the words so it would sound funny. He apparently knew French, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and many others. He even from time to time made mixtures of Spanish and English. Such good memories, such good times, what an amazing grandfather he is. Even when I saw through his disguise I would play along. Even when I grew up I would play along, it never grew old. The best grandparent there is. The best I could ever have. At least for me there is no doubt.
