TRUST AND MISTRUST

Stormy times,
Full of turbulence,
Topped by lightnings of mistrust.

Let it be,
So my heart tells me,
Why convince those who doubt?

Wave of rain,
Breezes my features,
As if comforting my being.

Clouds hover,
The night is pleasant,
No time now for suspicions.

Samson's fate,
As in The Bible,
Warns me of human folly.

I am I,
Believe me or go,
And do not blackmail me.

Honesty,
Is my best weapon,
And God arms me with the truth.

I care not,
About unfair demands,
Hidden in garbs of saucy words.

So trust me,
Or go on your way,
I am what I say I am.

Why accuse,
Each other -- we know,
It's wrong to harbour doubts.

Shane like I,
Refuse to be cowed,
Or stoop to please even you...

Othello's
Sweet Desdemona,
Also fell to baseless doubts.

Like I said,
And will say again,
No bond survives without trust.

The years vouch,
About my nature,
So I am least bothered now.

Some folks are,
Just like you too are,
Quite unstable deep within.

I am strong,
To brave such weather,
And be true to my own self.

I am deep,
As you acknowledged,
Have you forgotten that too?

The moon comes,
And whispers softly:
"Care not for those who don't care".
