LEST YOU TOO FORGET

Vultures circle the sky.
Waiting for food.
Patiently and quietly.
Even dogs wag their tails.
Longing for the morsels.
Gently and nicely.
Even plants wait somberly.
For rain and food.
Every creature waits patiently,
And toils like the honey-bee.

Every thing... except mankind:
Men and women, babies too,
Cry and wail for food,
And as their gaze sees some,
They rush on to devour it...
Worse than hyenas!
Jackals and cheetahs!
Is most of mankind...

"Man doth live on bread alone",
So said the Messiah*,
And warded off the devil,
And defeated temptation.
So many fast, just to conquer,
The craving of hunger.
Yet for every morsel,
The fat ones rush ahead,
Fearing they might lose,
Some thing of the very best,
Which lies very close,
Near the tables on platters!

How greedier the greedy are!
How lustful the lusty are!
How poor and beggarly,
The so-called rich ones are,
In their unbridled desires!
Worse than the carrion,
And scanty scavengers!

I have risen quite higher,
And doing so I have vanquished,
Pangs of thirst and hunger.
Yes, I am also a man,
An offspring of Adam,
And his mate, Mother Eve.
Yet, I do not feel deprived,
At this stage of my life,
OF anything "valuable",
In the lexicon of self-struggle --
As the striving, true mystic --
I am happy and content,
Thankful and grateful,
To the Lord God's intent.
His mercy doesn't relent
And provides me succor.
Even in wilderness and deserts
Of fear and wild torment
My God always helps me,
In my search and my pursuit
for the highest of all goals
To know my self is His truth.

So, while shaking my sadness,
Away from all the madness,
Of the 'giant' and the 'elf',
I find peace and serene calm,
In the divine Godly balm,
Filling me with peace and love,
And the bliss and the stillness,
Of tranquility from Him above.

Great storms and earthquakes,
Await to destroy all,
The followers of Satan,
And his invisible clan.
The end of this planet
Is drawing nigh and nearer
And the self-worshiping people
By their own choice, grown careless,
Of the pure joys of Heaven.
A huge tree welcomes me,
With its looming cool shade,
So, let me rest awhile,
After all that I have said.

Take heed O my beloved!
And shun manly scriptures,
and think and meditate,
On God's signs and wonders,
In the Glorious Quran.
And shed tears if you can
Lest you too like the others
Forget Allah's great plan.

Author's Notes/Comments:

*MESSIAH: Christ (Peace be upon him), the son of the Virgin Mary, who after 40 days of fasting warded off the evil suggestions of Satan who was tempting him to eat bread and not die as a hungry man.
The grammar and English I have used in this poem is mostly of the U.S. style...unlike my other poems, which follow the UK style of English and grammar.
This poem is mystical and based on my own observations and inspirations and means no offence to anybody, anywhere.
