THE UNBOUND (Part II)

Yes, the days, still keep passing by:
And so much has changed my life
The path I had chosen
The dreams and hopes
Became slaves of destiny.
My quest for truth
And my spiritual path
Hit snags and altered my course

My very own folks
Acted as the agents of fate.
Three decades on
I find myself striving harder
As the will to win sustains me
Along with God's timely help
And I am back again on a long lost road.
I have to struggle
With people who are more selfish
And greedy than they ever were
I try to cope with realities
And avoid booby traps on the way.
Amidst all this
I am glad I found
Someone who is just like me
Fed up of what the present is
And longing, like me, for the truth.
We are the last of a vanishing breed.
She is my staunch companion

And understands me like none else does
And I am grateful to my God Allah
For this great favour of His to me
Unbound I am but now she is with me.
Bold Lazeena compliments me
And adds so much to my strength and faith
WIth her selfless, wise and caring ways
Assuring me that I will reach my goal
And fortififying my resolve soothingly
Topped by her set of strong beliefs.
                O my sweet friend Lazeena!
May God Almighty bless us both
And guide us (He's the best Guide)
Showering His mercies on us, always
As we two unbound spirits march onwards...

I dedicate this poem to Lazeena, my bold and staunch, spiritually lofty friend,
