ON A FOGGY MORNING IN KARACHI

Sunlight creeps

Seeking a way through

The dense wintery foggy dark.

Venus peeps

Into my sad eyes

As if bidding its farewell.

I can't blink

It is not easy

To hold back unwept tears.

Long ago

I wondered about

Pegasus and Orion.

Perseus

And Cassiopea

Hercules and Andromeda.

Why the stars

Had gone so silent

About those they are named after.

Fairy tales

Are always pleasing

With their happy conclusions.

Life moves on

Like ships in whirpools

Spinning till everything sinks.

It's Sunday

A time to relax

But for me just  another day.

I love walks

On  foggy mornings

Just me and the roads ahead.

Thinking of

What I still possess:

The true love of someone gone.
