FIGHTING A STORM (Haiku poem)

hidden sun

clouds beckon

me to stop the storm

high bird flies

braving gusts

in my quest I go

sunbeams light

a dark path

I cannot stop now

bird flaps wings

raindrops fall

the ordeal has just begun

lightning whips

thunder's back

yet I do not yield

beyond the shadows

huddled and frightened

she who loves me waits

let nature threaten

with all might

I have faced its wraths before

sky will clear

God will prove

lovers don't accept defeat

the storm lulls

bird needs rest

but sings as I embrace her.
