Wish to sorrow

I use to have wishes and dreams as a kid,

delighted to think

a star so bright can realized my wildest dreams,

set my tooth under the pillow,

tooth fairy will trade it for collateral,

going to bed early on Christmas eve,

set Santa’s cookies and milk,

began to dream and feel the breeze

as miss parker told me

I can be what ever I wanted to be,

seeing my heroes on t.v.

fight evil and control peace,

in the 3rd grade I was chosen to read

Dr. Martin Luther kings

“I have a dream”,

now left with sorrow and pain,

Bush jr. I will attack Iraq and fight terrorism,

the heroes no more,

police brutality,

and violence all it is shown,

miss parkers speech is different,

try to get out of the streets,

we are damp in the world we live,

Santa and the tooth fairy no more,

if we hear a noise,

get strap cause you never know.

The wishing star simple a tear of the world,

wishes are dreams,

even dreams want to wish,

time has changed,

I used to have wishes and dreams as a kid,

as a young adult know,

I have sorrow and prayers
