The Silence of Tears

Folder:
Favourites :D

Men crack their whips with lightning's sounds
Screams and curses are said aloud
All the hall's filled with despair
But everyone must stop and stare

Except the whip, the world is silent
And although the strikes are violent
The man whose heart is filled with fire
Would rather die than be called a liar

*His children watch from within the crowd
Wondering why there is no sound
Quietly, silently, his wife weeps
'Cause she has promises to keep

*She knows not of all his sins
But as sure as fish have fins
She has spread many a lie
And has cut her feeble ties

So he stands tied to a beam
From his mouth escape no screams
He grits his teeth and squints his eyes
Wishing he hadn't told those lies
