Sensory Overload

I am drifting into sleep,
When my mind, infinitely deep
Sends up a memory, it's of you,
I shake my head but it sticks like glue.

My brain goes into a state of shock,
The minutes go by: tick tock tick tock.
I don't just see; I hear, smell feel,
My memories are 100% real

I'm standing there and you're looking at me,
Like I'm the only one, with whom you'd like to be.
But back to the present, I can see
That there will be no more of that, and no more glee.

And with sensory overload,
I know at times I could explode
When I remember it's all gone
That's when the waterworks come, you turned them on.
