Drink and Drive

Went to the party, thought it'd be fun

Didn't think that your actions would hurt anyone

You worked the dance floor, had a few drinks

Picked up your keys without stopping to think

Grabbed a few friends, got into your car

Started the engine and drove pretty far

Came to a light and you knew what to do

But instead of stopping, you went right through

Didn't see the other car, never really looked

It's a shame that just one sip is enough to get you hooked

Now you're lying on the pavement in a puddle of your blood

And your friends are dead around you, are you proud of what you've done?

And the driver of the other car, who'd never harm a fly

Is dead is well because you thought that you could drink and drive

Now remember as the paramedics scrape you off the ground

That your actions caused the mess of bodies all around

Now you're lying in the I.C.U. and fighting for your life

As the parents of the others wonder why you're still alive

And deep inside you know you shouldn't have made it through the night

As your standing behind bars because you had to drink and drive
