waiting for him

Folder:
Poetry

An ocean of tears is where I float,

Scaning the coast for a sign of rescue,

I watch you glance in my direction,

And wonder how I ever came to trust you,

As I stretch out my hand, I close my eyes,

Throw my head back and sink like a stone,

And there I wait, until he comes,

To take me back to our comfortable home,

For him no wait will be too long,

After all, I've been waiting these years,

The anticipation of him is enough,

To put a reign on my every fear,

You I did love, but you have passed,

Now my eyes strain hard to see,

Him, who holds a piece of my soul,

Standing in constant longing for me,

His thoughts are mine, his songs I hear,

In the distance, they beckon me there,

To his patient, solid arms I swim,

To which nothing here can compare.
