4. Alice and her son

Folder:
The Damien books

The days of fairy tales fell swiftly into night

A new reality came shifting into sight

He was dead, and you were standing by my side

And you were blinded by the light they left behind

Leave it all for the swine, after all we were only blind

It didn't stand the test of time, but we sure left a mess behind

It was July 2003, I hadn't even turned sixteen

I wasn't ready for the rig, but it was ready and waiting for me!

I had my crucifix and my flimsy faith

You had the book of Wicca, we thought it all the same

You sat, staring at the knife, I tried to save your life

But we were in too deep to turn around

I was an ornamental fool, and you were born in a burial gown

It sure didn't take that much to drag us down

That was the night I died, my fists were buried in the ground

Leave it all for the swine, after all we were only blind

It didn't stand the test of time, but we sure left a mess behind

It was July 2003, I hadn't even turned sixteen

I wasn't ready for the rig, but it was ready and waiting for me!

They couldn't save us before we drowned!

I can't see the future, I couldn't turn it all around

Even though the mystery was all to blame,

the night it came...

I fell asleep...

Wake me when you return, for I know the spirit always burns

Wake me, when you return...
