Plastic Existence

Folder:
Society

We live in a world where possessions reign

Society’s grasp through snapshots of fame

Our earthly possessions mean more these days

Than feeding the hungry, and guiding the strays.

In a cardboard cosmos, weathered world

Silicone society, truth is frightening.

Plastic existence, material child

This earth is untamed, we are quite wild.

Plastic existence, material earth

Money owns us from the time of our birth.

Like milk gone sour, we’ve gone the wrong way

Earthly possessions have led us astray.

“Imagine all the people, living for today”

I don’t agree, were governed by pay.

Put down the remote, and shake someone’s HAND

If we live as brothers, we make a peaceful land.

In a cardboard cosmos, weathered world

Silicone society, truth is frightening.

Plastic existence, material child

This earth is untamed, we are quite wild.

Plastic existence, material earth

Money owns us from the time of our birth.

Like milk gone sour, we’ve gone the wrong way

Earthly possessions have led us astray.

Author's Notes/Comments:

We live in a society where possesions rule supreme.  This is not good.  It will come back to haunt us someday, I fear.
