Is Fear All You Hear?
Speed past your neighbour while turning a blind eye
Not stopping knowing he’s still got miles to walk
All you do is drive by
Compassion, love for your fellow human was all just talk
Walking by a starving fellow creature
while you have spare money in your pocket
but out of fear, you turn a blind eye to the universal teacher
and speed by like a rocket
Turning a blind eye to suffering because you fear
Is Fear all You Hear?
What have we become?
We see suffering and pain every day
Yet, most just simply blindly ignore and walk away
Whether it’s an animal or a fellow creature
Ignorance is all we feature
What is going to become of us?
Who will be there for you when you cry out?
When you scream, cry and create a fuss
What will you do when no help is about?
We reap what we sow
To ignore our fellow humans’ cries for help, all because of fear
Even though we know
What makes you think that anyone will be there for you even though help is near?
Turning a blind eye to suffering because you fear
Is Fear all You Hear?
What have we become?
I will stand proud, live my life the true, honest and compassionate way
I will walk my life path by heart, and if harm comes my way,
at least I will know my good deeds saved lives, warmed hearts, I’m not made of clay
and was worth my short earthly stay.
