Freedom In Sight

So here I sit

Alone in the sea.

Looking at the world

That is stretching before me.

I don't know how to swim

But I find myself here.

Lost amidst the sea

of my deepest fear.

But a boat appears

on the distant shore.

A boat that I swear

I have seen before.

It pulls out towards me

and has me in sight.

Somehow, this ship feels right.

So I reach out for it,

hoping to climb free

And escape from the drowning

That has befallen me.

With freedom in sight

I feel I just might

Be safe to sail again.
